Rumour has it that Vista works best on a wide screen display and not a 3-4-5 aspect display. Does anybody have any views on this?

Optimum Vista display screen
Not entirely sure what you mean... but widescreens work well regardless. They've optimised some wallpapers to suit widescreen monitors because they know about Media Center, and that you may want to watch a film with a big screen.
I've seen a concept design and demo of 6 screens being hooked up at once - one huge display - no word of a lie. I'm 100% sure how they did that, but whether your using 2, 3 or even 4 monitors, it still generally looks good.

Well, having more screen real-estate is nicer for a variety of reasons, particularly widescreen as you can have DVDs showing in closer to true aspect ratio, and the optional sidebar can use the extra width.
Apparently Media Center features are more optimised for widescreen.
I notice that there are widescreen wallpapers now supplied.
